<center><b>STORY WRITING</b><br>से सम्बन्धित ध्यातव्य बिन्दु</center>

1. Outline का Tense— प्रश्न में story की Outline (रूपरेखा) प्राय: Present Tense (वर्तमान काल) में दी जाती है, और प्राय: articles नहीं देते हैं।

आप story को Past Tense (भूतकाल) में लिखें। Tense व Articles का विशेष ध्यान रखें। सामान्यत: Story की Verb अपनी Second form में लिखी जाती है।

2. Story का क्रम— आपके द्वारा लिखी जाने वाली story (कहानी) में घटनाओं का क्रम वही रखें जो outline में है।

3. कल्पनाशक्ति का उपयोग— Story को रोचक बनाने के लिए यदि आवश्यक हो तो अपनी कल्पनाशक्ति का प्रयोग भी करें।

4. विराम चिन्हों का प्रयोग— कहानी लेखन में उचित स्थान पर उचित विराम चिन्ह का प्रयोग करना चाहिए।

5. Passive Voice का प्रयोग— यदि आवश्यकता हो तो Passive Voice का प्रयोग अवश्य करें।

6. Direct Narration का प्रयोग— यदि आवश्यकता पड़े तो बातचीत को Direct Narration में inverted commas में दें। यह आपके लिए सुविधाजनक रहेगा।

7. Title आरम्भ में दें— Story का Title (शीर्षक) कहानी के ऊपर अवश्य दें।

8. Moral अन्त में दें— कहानी का Moral कहानी के अन्त में पृथक् शीर्षक के अन्तर्गत देना चाहिए।

9. Spelling सम्बन्धी अशुद्धियाँ— कहानी लिखने के पश्चात् उसे एक बार पुन: ध्यान से पढ़ना चाहिए। वर्तनी सम्बन्धी तथा अन्य अशुद्धियाँ कोई हों तो उन्हें सुधार देना चाहिए।

10. वाक्यांशों का प्रयोग— कहानी लेखन में निम्नलिखित वाक्यांशों में से कुछ का प्रयोग प्राय: होता रहता है, अत: इन्हें ध्यान से पढ़ें व आवश्यकतानुसार इनका प्रयोग करें, इससे पूरी कहानी लिखने में सुविधा रहती है।

Once upon a time farmer had four sons. His sons were always lazy and quarrelsome. He was on his deathbed. He thought of a plan.

One day he brought home a bundle of sticks. He gave each of his sons a bundle of sticks to break. They tried to break it one by one but all failed to break it. Then the farmer asked them to untie the bundle and break the single stick one by one Every son broke it easily. They understood the trick of the farmer. He told them about the value of unity.

Moral : Union is strength.

एक समय एक किसान के चार पुत्र थे। उसके पुत्र हमेशा आलसी व झगड़ालू थे। वह अपनी मृत्युशय्या पर था। उसने एक तरकीब सोची।

एक दिन वह लकड़ियों का एक गठर घर लाया। उसने अपने प्रत्येक पुत्र को लकड़ियों का गठर तोड़ने के लिए दिया। उन्होंने एक-एक करके इसे तोड़ने का प्रयास किया किन्तु सभी इसे तोड़ नहीं सके। तब किसान ने उन्हें गठर को खोलकर लकड़ियों को एक-एक करके तोड़ने के लिए कहा। प्रत्येक पुत्र ने इसे आसानी से तोड़ दिया। वे किसान की चाल समझ गये। उसने उन्हें संगठन के महत्त्व के बारे में बताया।

**A Rabbit and A Tortoise**

Once a rabbit and a tortoise were fast friends. The rabbit laughed at the tortoise because the tortoise was very slow. One day tortoise asked the rabbit to run a race. The

rabbit agreed. They ran the race on a certain day. The rabbit was very fast but the tortoise was very slow. Very soon the rabbit crossed half way and sat down under a tree to take rest. He fell asleep. The tortoise continued to walk slowly and reached at the final destination. The rabbit lost the race but the tortoise won the race.

Moral : Slow but steady wins the race.

एक खरगोश और एक कछुआ

एक बार एक खरगोश और एक कछुआ घनिष्ठ मित्र थे। खरगोश कछुए पर हँसता था क्योंकि कछुआ बहुत धीमा था। एक दिन कछुए ने खरगोश को एक दौड़ दौड़ने के लिए कहा। खरगोश सहमत हो गया। वे एक निश्चित दिन दौड़ दौड़े। खरगोश बहुत तेज था किन्तु कछुआ बहुत धीमा था।

बहुत शीघ्र खरगोश ने आधा मार्ग पार कर लिया और एक वृक्ष के नीचे आराम करने को बैठ गया। उसे नींद आ गयी। कछुए ने धीरे-धीरे चलना जारी रखा और अन्तिम निर्दिष्ट स्थान पर पहुँच गया। खरगोश दौड़ हार गया किन्तु कछुआ दौड़ जीत गया।

शिक्षा : धीरे किन्तु निरन्तर कार्य करने वाला अन्त में सफलता प्राप्त करता है।

अगले दिन उसने कपास का एक बोरा उसकी पीठ पर रखा। यह बहुत हल्का था। जब गधा नाले को पार कर रहा था, वह बैठ गया। कपास, पानी में भीग गई। गधा खड़ा हो गया। उसे बोझ बहुत भारी लगा। वह सरलता से चल नहीं सकता था। वह बहुत दुःखी हुआ।

शिक्षा : जैसे को तैसा।

**A Clever Cap seller and the Monkeys**

Once, there was a cap seller. He used to sell his caps in the nearby towns. One hot day while passing through a forest, he felt tired. In order to avoid the sun’s heat, he went under a tree, put down his basket of caps and slept for sometime. There were some monkeys on the tree. They came down and took away all the caps from the basket. After sometime, the cap seller woke up. He found his caps missing. When he saw up, he found that each monkey had taken a cap. He used some tricks but failed. Finally, he used his common sense and threw his own cap on the ground. The monkeys did the same to imitate him. He collected his caps and went home happily.

Moral : Never lose heart.

**एक चतुर टोपी विक्रेता और बन्दर**

एक बार एक टोपी विक्रेता था। वह अपनी टोपियाँ पास के कस्बों में बेचा करता था। एक गर्मी के दिन जब वह एक जंगल से गुजर रहा था तो उसने थकान महसूस की। सूरज की गर्मी से बचने के लिए, वह एक वृक्ष के नीचे गया, अपनी टोपियों की टोकरी को नीचे रखा और कुछ समय के लिए सो गया। उस वृक्ष पर कुछ बन्दर थे। वे नीचे आये और उसकी टोकरी से टोपियाँ ले गए। कुछ समय बाद, टोपी विक्रेता जागा।

उसने अपनी टोपियों को खोया हुआ पाया। जब उसने ऊपर देखा तो उसने पाया कि हर बन्दर ने एक टोपी ले रखी थी। उसने कुछ तरकीबें अपनाईं किन्तु सफल रहा। अन्ततः उसने अपनी सामान्य बुद्धि का प्रयोग किया और अपनी टोपी जमीन पर फेंक दी। बन्दरों ने भी उसकी नकल करने के लिए ऐसा ही किया। उसने अपनी टोपियाँ एकत्रित कीं और खुशी से घर चला गया।

शिक्षा : कभी हिम्मत मत हारो।

A Lion And The Four Bulls

There lived four bulls in a forest. They were fast friends. There also lived a lion in the same forest. The bulls always lived together. So the lion could not harm them.

One day he went to a bull and said, "The other bulls are jealous of you. They eat fresh and green grass and leave bad grass for you. You should leave the other bulls and eat fresh grass."

The foolish bull believed the lion. Next day he went far away to eat grass. The lion attacked the bull and killed him.

After some days he went to another bull and repeated the same word. In this way, the lion killed all the bulls one by one.

Moral : Union is strength.

चार मूर्ख बैल ( संगठन में शक्ति है )

सिंह व चार बैल

चार बैल एक जंगल में रहते थे। वे पक्के मित्र थे। उसी जंगल में एक शेर भी रहता था। वे बैल सदैव साथ-साथ रहते थे। इसलिए शेर उनको कोई नुकसान नहीं पहुँचा सकता था।

एक दिन वह एक बैल के पास गया और कहा—"दूसरे बैल तुमसे ईर्ष्या करते हैं। वे ताजी और हरी घास खाते हैं और तुम्हारे लिए खराब घास छोड़ देते हैं। तुम्हें दूसरे बैलों का साथ छोड़ देना चाहिए और ताजी घास खानी चाहिए।"

मूर्ख बैल ने शेर का यकीन कर लिया। अगले दिन वह घास खाने बहुत दूर चला गया। शेर ने उस बैल पर आक्रमण किया और मार डाला।

कुछ दिनों बाद वह दूसरे बैल के पास गया और वही शब्द दोहराये। इस प्रकार शेर ने सभी बैलों को एक-एक करके मार डाला।

Bad Company

Once a good boy fell in bad company. He disobeyed his father. His father advised him to shun from the bad company but all in vain. Father decided to teach him a lesson. He brought some apples and asked his son to put them in an almirah. The boy noticed one rotten apple among them. Next day all the apples were rotten. The father showed his son how a bad company like a rotten apple, could spoil the other boys. Thus the father taught him a lesson. The boy gave up the bad company.

Moral : Better alone than in bad company.

बुरी संगति

एक बार एक अच्छा लड़का बुरी संगति में पड़ गया। वह अपने पिता की अवज्ञा करने लगा। उसके पिता ने उसे बुरी संगति से दूर रहने की सलाह दी किन्तु सब व्यर्थ। पिता ने उसे सबक सिखाने का निश्चय किया। वह कुछ सेब ले आया और बेटे से उसे आलमारी में रखने के लिए कहा। लड़के ने उनमें से एक सड़ा हुआ सेब देखा। अगले दिन सारे सेब सड़ गए थे। पिता ने बेटे को दिखाया कि कैसे एक सड़े हुए सेब की तरह बुरी संगति, दूसरे लड़कों को बिगाड़ सकती है। इस प्रकार पिता ने उसे सबक सिखाया। लड़के ने बुरी संगति छोड़ दी।

शिक्षा : बुरी संगति में रहने से अधिक अच्छा अकेले रहना होता है।

A Monkey And A Sparrow

It was a rainy season. One day it was raining heavily. A monkey got drenched because he had no home or shelter. He was shivering hard. A sparrow saw the shivering monkey from its nest. She felt pity on the monkey. She advised the monkey to build home or shelter before the setting of the rainy season. The monkey felt irritated and destroyed the sparrow’s nest also. The poor sparrow flew here and there in misery. It was full of regret for her words and realised that it should not have given advice that was not asked.

Moral : Never advise fools.

एक बन्दर और एक गौरैया

यह बरसात की ऋतु थी। एक दिन, तेज वर्षा हो रही थी। एक बन्दर बिल्कुल गीला हो गया क्योंकि उसके पास कोई घर या आश्रय नहीं था। वह अत्यधिक काँप रहा था। एक गौरैया (चिड़िया) ने अपने घोंसले से काँपते हुए बन्दर को देखा। उसे बन्दर पर दया आ गई। उसने बन्दर को परामर्श दिया कि वर्षा ऋतु के आरम्भ होने से पूर्व उसे घर या आश्रय बना लेना चाहिए। बन्दर चिढ़ गया और उसने गौरैया के घोंसले को भी नष्ट कर दिया। बेचारी गौरैया पीड़ा में इधर-उधर उड़ी। वह अपने शब्दों के लिए पश्चाताप से भरी थी व उसने महसूस किया कि उसे वह सलाह नहीं देनी चाहिए थी जो माँगी नहीं गई थी।

शिक्षा : मूर्खों को कभी भी परामर्श न दें।

A Bee and A Dove

There was a bee. One day, it went to a river to drink water. It fell into the water. It did all it could to save itself from drowning. A dove sitting in a tree on the bank of that river saw the bee drowning. It took pity on the bee. It plucked a leaf from a branch of the tree and dropped it into the water. The bee climbed it up and its life was saved.

After some days, A hunter saw the dove. He aimed at the dove. The bee saw all this. It flew to the hunter and stung him on his hand. The hunter missed the aim. His gun went off. The dove flew off. The bee saved the dove's life.

Moral : Do good, have good.

एक मधुमक्खी और एक फ़ाख्ता

एक मधुमक्खी थी। एक दिन वह नदी पर पानी पीने गई। वह पानी में गिर गई। डूबने से स्वयं को बचाने को जो भी वह कर सकती थी उसने किया। उसी नदी के किनारे एक वृक्ष पर बैठे हुए एक फ़ाख्ता ने मधुमक्खी को डूबते हुए देखा। उसे मधुमक्खी पर दया आई। उसने पेड़ की शाखा से एक पत्ती तोड़ी और उसे पानी में गिराया। मधुमक्खी इस पर चढ़ गई और उसका जीवन बच गया।

कुछ दिनों के बाद एक शिकारी ने उस फ़ाख्ता को देखा। उसने फ़ाख्ता की ओर निशाना लगाया। मधुमक्खी ने यह देखा। वह उड़ी और शिकारी के हाथ पर डंक मार दिया। शिकारी का निशाना चूक गया। उसकी बन्दूक चल गई। फ़ाख्ता उड़ गई। मधुमक्खी ने फ़ाख्ता के जीवन को बचाया।

शिक्षा : कर भला तो हो भला।

**A Tiger and A Greedy Traveller**

Once there was a tiger. He killed a lady going through the jungle. When he was eating her body, he noticed her gold bangle. He kept it as he thought it might be useful. He hid himself by a pool. Later a traveller came to the pool. He was dusty and tired. He bathed in its cool water. There he saw a tiger in the bushes. He was terrified. The tiger came out and greeted the traveller with a gold bangle. The traveller's greed overcame his fear. He crossed the pool to take the bangle. Then the tiger sprang upon him and ate him.

Moral : Avoid your greedy desires.

**एक बाघ और एक लालची यात्री (राहगीर)**

एक बार एक बाघ था। उसने जंगल में होकर जाती हुई एक महिला को जान से मार दिया। जब वह उसके शरीर को खा रहा था, तो उसे उसकी सोने की चूड़ी दिखाई दी। उसने उसको रख लिया क्योंकि उसने सोचा कि वह किसी उपयोग की हो सकती थी। उसने स्वयं को एक तालाब की बगल में छिपा लिया। बाद में एक यात्री उस तालाब पर आया। वह धूल में हो रहा था तथा थका हुआ था। उसने उसके ठण्डे पानी में स्नान किया। वहाँ झाड़ियों में उसने एक बाघ देखा। वह आतंकित हो गया। बाघ बाहर निकल आया और सोने की चूड़ी दिखाकर उसका स्वागत किया। यात्री के लालच ने उसके डर पर विजय प्राप्त कर ली, उसके डर को भगा दिया। उसने चूड़ी लेने के लिये तालाब को पार किया। फिर बाघ उस पर उछलकर झपट पड़ा और उसको मार दिया।

शिक्षा : अपनी लालची, लोलुप इच्छाओं से बचकर रहो।

गड़रिया बालक और भेड़िया

एक गड़रिया बालक था। उसको भेड़ों की देखभाल करने के लिए नौकरी पर रखा गया। उसने कई दिनों तक भेड़ों की देखभाल की। वह इस नीरस काम को करते-करते उकता गया। एक दिन वह मजाक-हँसी में ‘भेड़िया’ पुकार कर चिल्लाया। सभी ग्रामवासी उसकी मदद के लिये शीघ्रता से दौड़ पड़े। लेकिन उनको वहाँ कोई भेड़िया नहीं मिला। लड़के ने उनकी हँसी उड़ाई। ग्रामवासी नाराज हो गये। कुछ दिनों बाद उस लड़के ने फिर वही मजाक किया। कुछ ग्रामवासी तो दौड़कर आ गये लेकिन कुछ ग्रामवासियों ने उस पर कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया। उन्होंने वहाँ कोई भी भेड़िया नहीं देखा। एक दिन वास्तव में एक भेड़िया आ गया। वह ‘भेड़िया! भेड़िया!’ चिल्लाया। लेकिन ग्रामवासियों ने उसके चिल्लाने पर कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया। भेड़िये ने बहुत सी भेड़ों को मार डाला।

शिक्षा : झूठे का कोई विश्वास नहीं करता। अथवा झूठ एक बार का, झूठा बार-बार का।

Two Friends and A Bear

Two friends were walking through a forest when suddenly a bear appeared. One friend quickly climbed a tree, leaving the other behind. the second friend lay down and held his breath, pretending to be dead.

The bear came closer and snuffed him carefully. Thinking the man was dead, the bear walked away. When the bear left, the first friend climbed down and asked, "What did the bear whisper to you?" The other friend replied sadly, "The bear advised me

The next day the crane invited the fox to dine. The fox went there. He put boiled rice in a jar. Its neck was narrow. The crane ate rice and the fox remained hungry.

Moral : Tit for tat.

एक लोमड़ और सारस

एक बार एक समय एक लोमड़ और एक सारस थे। वे पक्के मित्र थे। एक दिन लोमड़ ने सारस को अपने साथ भोजन के लिए निमंत्रित किया। सारस, लोमड़ के यहाँ गया। उसने सारस का स्वागत किया। उसने एक सपाट प्लेट रखी जिसमें शोरबा (तरल पदार्थ) था। लोमड़ शोरबे को चाट गया। सारस की नुकीली चोंच थी इसलिए वह शोरबा नहीं पी सका। सारस भूखा चला गया। उसने एक योजना सोची।

अगले दिन सारस ने लोमड़ को भोजन के लिए निमंत्रित किया। लोमड़ वहाँ गया। सारस ने उबले हुए चावल एक जार में रखे। उसकी गर्दन संकरी थी। सारस समस्त चावल खा गया और लोमड़ भूखा रह गया।

शिक्षा : जैसे को तैसा।

Belling the Cat

Once upon a time there lived many mice in a big house. A cat also lived in that house. The cat killed some rats everyday and ate them up. The rats were afraid of the cat. One day they held a meeting. Then they thought of a plan to get rid of the cat. They decided to tie a bell around the neck of the cat. All the rats were happy at this suggestion. There was an old rat. It asked the rats as to who would bell the cat. All the rats became silent. No rat was willing to do that work. At that time the cat came. Then all the rats ran into their holes.

Moral : It is easy to say, but difficult to do.

बिल्ली के घण्टी बाँधना

एक बार एक समय किसी बड़े घर में बहुत से चूहे रहते थे। एक बिल्ली भी उस मकान में रहती थी। बिल्ली प्रतिदिन कुछ चूहे मारती थी और उसको खा जाती थी। चूहे बिल्ली से डरे हुए थे। एक दिन उन्होंने एक सभा की। चूहों ने बिल्ली से छुटकारा पाने के तरह-तरह के सुझाव दिये। लेकिन कोई एकमत की राय नहीं बनी। फिर उन्होंने बिल्ली से मुक्ति पाने की एक योजना सोची। उन्होंने बिल्ली के गले में घंटी बाँधने का निश्चय किया। इस सुझाव पर सभी चूहे खुश थे। वहाँ एक वृद्ध चूहा भी था। उसने चूहों से पूछा कि बिल्ली के गले में घण्टी कौन बाँधेगा। सभी चूहे चुप हो गये। कोई भी चूहा उस काम को करने के लिए तैयार नहीं था। उसी समय बिल्ली वहाँ आ गई। फिर तो सभी चूहे अपने बिलों में दौड़ गये।

शिक्षा : कहना सरल है, करना कठिन है।

कुछ दिनों के पश्चात् वह शेर जाल में फँस गया। वह बार-बार दहाड़ा। चूहे ने दहाड़ें सुनीं। वह शेर के पास दौड़ा। उसने अपने तेज दाँतों से जाल को काट दिया। शेर अब आजाद था। उसने चूहे को धन्यवाद दिया।

जंगल में दोनों मित्रों ने भी अपने मित्र की हत्या करने की योजना बनाई, जब वह भोजन लेकर लौटे।

ज्योंही वह मित्र भोजन लेकर वापस आया, दोनों मित्रों ने उस पर आक्रमण कर दिया और उसकी हत्या कर दी। वे बहुत प्रसन्न हुए।

वे बहुत भूखे थे। इसलिए उन्होंने विषयुक्त भोजन कर लिया। थोड़े समय के पश्चात् वे भी वहीं मर गये। यह उनका दुःखद अन्त था।

शिक्षा : जैसा बोओगे, वैसा काटोगे।

An Honest Wood-cutter

A woodcutter went to the forest to cut wood daily. He began to cut a branch of a tree. Suddenly his axe slipped away and fell into a river. He cried for help. The god (water-god) appeared and brought an axe of gold. The woodcutter said, "It is not my axe, so I will not take it." The god jumped back into water. This time, he brought an axe of silver. The woodcutter again refused to take it.

The god again jumped into the water. He brought the woodcutter's iron axe. He got it happily. The god was pleased with the honesty of the poor wood-cutter. He gave

all the three axes to the woodcutter. The woodcutter was very happy and thanked the god.

Moral : Honesty is the best policy.

#### एक ईमानदार लकड़हारा

एक लकड़हारा रोजाना जंगल में लकड़ी काटने जाता था। वह लकड़ी काट रहा था। अचानक उसकी कुल्हाड़ी नदी में गिर गई। वह सहायता के लिए चिल्लाया। जल-देवता प्रकट हुए और सोने की एक कुल्हाड़ी लाए। लकड़haरे ने कहा—"यह मेरी कुल्हाड़ी नहीं है, इसलिए मैं इसे नहीं लूँगा।" देवता वापस पानी में कूदा। वह चाँदी की एक कुल्हाड़ी ले आये। लकड़हारे ने इसे लेने से फिर इनकार कर दिया।

देवता फिर पानी में कूदा। इस बार वह लकड़हारे की लोहे की कुल्हाड़ी ले आये। गरीब लकड़हारे ने इसे खुशी से ले ली। देवता गरीब लकड़हारे की ईमानदारी से खुश हुए। उन्होंने तीनों कुल्हाड़ियाँ लकड़हारे को दे दीं। लकड़हारा बहुत खुश हुआ और देवता को धन्यवाद दिया।

शिक्षा— ईमानदारी सबसे अच्छी नीति है।

शिक्षा : दासता का जीवन सदैव ही दर्दपूर्ण होता है।

He thought for a moment. He ordered to open all the windows. Now some bees flew in from the garden. They settled on the garland in her right hand. Solomon said the garland in her right hand was real. The queen was impressed with his wisdom.

Moral : The witty are always praised.

राजा सोलोमन और शेबा की महारानी

राजा सोलोमन अपनी बुद्धिमानी के लिए प्रसिद्ध था। शेबा की महारानी उसकी बुद्धिमानी का परीक्षण करना चाहती थी। उसने उसे फूलों की दो मालाएँ दिखाईं। दोनों मालाएँ समान दिखाई पड़ती थीं। एक माला उसके दाहिने हाथ में थी और दूसरी माला उसके बाएँ हाथ में थी। एक माला असली थी और दूसरी कृत्रिम। उसने सोलोमन से पूछा—“कौनसी माला असली फूलों की है और कौनसी माला कृत्रिम फूलों की है?” उसने एक क्षण सोचा। उसने तमाम खिड़कियाँ खोलने का आदेश दिया। अब कुछ मक्खियाँ बाग से उड़कर अन्दर आईं। उसकी दाहिनी हाथ की माला पर मधुमक्खियाँ बैठीं। सोलोमन ने कहा कि उसके दाहिने हाथ की माला असली फूलों की थी। रानी उसकी बुद्धिमानी से प्रभावित हुई।

उसने कौवे की चोंच के आकार की प्रशंसा की तथा उसे अपने लिए एक मधुर गीत गाने के लिए कहा। कौवा अपनी प्रशंसा सुनकर फूलकर कुप्पा हो गया। उसने गाने के लिये अपना मुँह खोला। रोटी का टुकड़ा उसके मुँह से नीचे गिर गया। लोमड़ी ने उसे ले लिया और भाग गई। कौवा अपनी मूर्खता पर पछताया।

The dogs reached there. They killed him.

एक बार एक बारहसिंगा था। वह बहुत प्यासा था। वह एक पोखर पर आया। वह पानी पी रहा था। उसने पानी में अपनी परछाई देखी। उसने अपने सुन्दर सींग देखे। उसे बहुत प्रसन्नता एवं गर्व हुआ। फिर उसने अपने पाँवों की ओर देखा। वे पतले एवं भद्दे थे। उसने उन्हें पसन्द नहीं किया। उन्हें देखकर उसे दुःख हुआ।

इसी समय कुछ शिकारी अपने कुत्तों के साथ आये। वह अपना जीवन बचाने के लिए बहुत तेज भागा। कुत्ते इसके पीछे भाग रहे थे। वे इसे नहीं पकड़ सके। लेकिन इसके सींग झाड़ियों में फँस गये। इसने उन्हें छुड़ाने की कोशिश की, किन्तु सब व्यर्थ। भद्दी टांगों ने उसको बचाया, लेकिन सुन्दर सींगों ने उसके जीवन को खतरे में डाल दिया।

इसी बीच में कुत्ते वहाँ पहुँच गये। उन्होंने उसे मार डाला। इस प्रकार वह अपने सुन्दर सींगों के कारण मारा गया। यह उसका दुःखपूर्ण अन्त था।

शिक्षा : हर चमकने वाली वस्तु सोना नहीं होता।

He accused the lamb for making his water dirty. He was angry with the lamb. The lamb was afraid. He replied how he could make his water dirty. The water was flowing from his side to his side. Then the wolf told him that he had abused him the previous year. The lamb politely replied that he was not born the previous year. Then the wolf said that it must be his mother. He would kill him. The wolf killed the lamb and ate him.

Moral : Might is right.

एक भेड़िया और एक मेमना

एक भेड़िया था। एक दिन वह बहुत भूखा व प्यासा था। वह एक नदी के पास गया। वहाँ एक मोटा मेमना पानी पी रहा था। उसने मेमने को देखा। उसने उसे खाने की एक योजना सोची।

उसने मेमने पर पानी को गन्दा करने का आरोप लगाया। वह मेमने पर क्रोधित हुआ। मेमना डर गया उसने उत्तर दिया कि वह उसके पानी को गन्दा कैसे कर सकता था। पानी उसकी (भेड़िये की) तरफ से उसकी (मेमने की) तरफ बह रहा था। फिर भेड़िये ने उसे कहा कि उसने पिछले साल उसको गाली दी थी। मेमने ने विनम्रता से उत्तर दिया कि पिछले साल तो वह पैदा ही नहीं हुआ था। फिर भेड़िये ने कहा कि वह उसकी माँ होगी। वह उसको जान से मार देगा। भेड़िये ने मेमने को जान से मार दिया और उसको खा गया।

शिक्षा : जिसकी लाठी उसकी भैंस।
