Question 1.
Why did the king want no more talk about the Hilsa-fish?
राजा हिल्सा मछली के बारे में और अधिक बात क्यों नहीं करना चाहता था?
Answer:
It was the season for Hilsa-fish. During this season, it was found in so much abundance that people only talked about it all the time. The king was irritated and fed up with so much discussion about Hilsa-fish. Thus, he did not want any more talk about the Hilsa.
यह हिल्सा मछली का मौसम था। इस मौसम के दौरान, यह इतनी अधिक मात्रा में पायी जाती है कि लोग हर समय इसके बारे में बात करते थे। राजा को इससे झुंझलाहट हो गई और वह हिल्सा मछली की चर्चा से बहत अधिक ऊब गया। इस प्रकार से, वह हिल्सा के बारे में अधिक बातचीत करना नहीं चाहता था।

What did the king ask Gopal to do to prove that he was clever?

Answer:
The king asked Gopal to buy a huge Hilsa fish and bring it to the palace without anyone asking him a word about it.
राजा ने गोपाल से एक बहुत बड़ी हिल्सा मछली खरीदने के लिए कहा और इसे महल में इसके बारे में किसी के भी द्वारा बिना एक शब्द पूछे लाने के लिए कहा था।

What three things did Gopal do before he went to buy his Hilsa-fish?

Answer:
Gopal had his face half shaven, then smeared himself with ash and finally dressed into rags before going to buy his Hilsa-fish.
गोपाल ने अपने चेहरे की आधी दाढ़ी को काटा तब उसने अपने आप पर राख मल ली और आखिरकार चिथड़े कपड़े पहने इससे पूर्व कि वह हिल्सा मछली खरीदने जा रहा था।

How did Gopal get inside the palace to see the king after he had bought the fish?
गोपाल ने राजा से मिलने के लिए महल के अन्दर किसप्रकार से प्रवेश किया था जब उसने हिल्सा मछली को खरीद लिया था?
Answer:
When Gopal reached the court, the gatekeepers did not let him go inside. Gopal started to dance and sing loudly. The king heard the noise and ordered his men to bring the man making so much noise to him. Thus, Gopal managed to get inside the palace.
जब गोपाल दरबार में पहुँचा, दरबानों ने उसे अन्दर नहीं जाने दिया था। गोपाल जोर से गाने और नाचने लगा था। राजा ने इस शोर को सुना और अपने लोगों को इस आदमी को पकड़ कर लाने के लिए कहा जो इतना शोर कर रहा था। इस प्रकार से गोपाल ने महल के अन्दर प्रवेश करने की व्यवस्था की थी।

Explain why no one seemed to be interested in talking about the Hilsa-fish which Gopal had bought?
आप यह व्याख्या कीजिए कि कोई भी व्यक्ति गोपाल के द्वारा खरीदी गई हिल्सा मछली के बारे में बात करने में रुचि क्यों नहीं ले रहा था?
Answer:
Gopal shaved his beard half and smeared ash. He wore rags and looked like a mad man. People looked and made fun of him. They all noticed at the appearance of Gopal but not at the Hilsa-fish he bought from market.
गोपाल ने अपनी आधी दाढ़ी को काटा और राख पोत ली थी। उसने चिथड़े पहने और पागल की तरह लग रहा था। लोग उसकी ओर देखकर उसका मजाक बना रहे थे। उन्होंने गोपाल के बाहरी स्वरूप पर ध्यान दिया उस हिल्सा मछली की ओर नहीं जो वह बाजार से खरीद कर लाया था।
