Stanza 1.
I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made :
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade
Reference : These are the opening lines of W.B. Yeats lyric, “The Lake Isle of Innisfree’. This well-known poem explores the poet’s longing for peace and tranquillity.
Context : The poet is impatient to go to the Lake Isle of Innisfree where he would be living in the midst of Nature and enjoying peace and tranquillity.
Explanation : The poet expresses his intention to get up and immediately start for Innisfree, a place where he had spent a lot of time as a boy. He intends to built a cottage there with clay and twisted sticks. He also thinks of planting there nine rows of beans. He will have a hive for the honeybees and live in an open space echoing with the murmuring sound of the bees.
The poet has a strong longing to live alone, cut off from the society of man, in the midst of Nature.

प्रसंग : कवि इनिस्फ्री के झील टापू पर जाने के लिए अधीर है। वहाँ वह प्रकृति के बीच रहेगा तथा शान्ति एवं नीरवता का आनन्द उठायेगा।
व्याख्या : कवि तुरन्त उठ कर इनिस्फ्री के लिए रवाना हो जाने का उसका इरादा व्यक्त करता है। इस स्थान पर बच्चे के रूप में कवि ने काफी समय बिताया था। उसका इरादा वहाँ मिट्टी एवं मुड़ी हुई लकड़ी की टहनियों की मदद से एक झोंपड़ी बनाने का है। वह वहाँ सेम की नौ पंक्तियाँ उगाने का विचार भी रखता है। वह मधुमक्खियों के लिए एक छत्ता भी रखेगा तथा वह एक खुले स्थान में रहेगा जो मधुमक्खियों की भिनभिनाहट से गूंजता रहेगा। कवि की मानव-समाज से दूर प्रकृति के बीच अकेले रहने की उत्कट इच्छा है।

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow.
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings,
There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evenings full of the linnet’s wings.

Peace comes to Innisfree dropping from the veils of the morning. “The veils of the morning” suggests the morning time which covers all things like a veil and gives peace. व्याख्या : कवि इनिस्फ्री में कुछ शान्ति पाने की आशा रखता है । शान्ति इनिस्फ्री में प्रात:काल के चूंघट से टपकती हुई अवतरित होती है। “प्रातःकाल के चूंघट” से तात्पर्य है, प्रात:काल का समय जो सभी वस्तुओं को बूंघट की भाँति ढके रहता है और शान्ति प्रदान करता है। झींगुर तथा गाने वाला पक्षी कवि को संगीत प्रदान करेंगे। उस स्थान पर मध्यरात्रि हल्की रोशनी से प्रकाशित रहती है। दुपहर बैंगनी रंग की रोशनी से दमदमाती है और संध्याकाल लिनेट (गाने वाले पक्षी) पक्षियों से परिपूर्ण हो जाता है।

I hear the lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,

व्याख्या : कवि उठकर तुरन्त इनिस्फ्री के लिए रवाना हो जाना चाहता है। रात-दिन वह झील के पानी को किनारे से छप-छप की धीमी ध्वनि के साथ टकराते हुए सुनता है। वह झील के पानी की छपछपाहट केवल उसकी कल्पना में ही सुनता है क्योंकि वह या तो शहर की सड़क अथवा गन्दे फुटपाथ पर खड़ा है। वह झील के पानी की आवाज उसके हृदय के सबसे अन्दरूनी कोने में सुनता है। इससे उस स्थान के प्रति कवि के प्रेम एवं लगाव की पुष्टि होती है।
